The inscription is what drove me to purchase. After I received it, I realized it is very low quality and cheap. My advice is go buy a quality compass and have it inscribed at you local mall or trophy shop unless you just want a cheap piece of junk to put on the shelf and not actually carry as a functional piece. My daughter dropped it on the carpet and it already has a dent. this is not made to carry with you on your travels, nor is it a hand me down type keepsake. Its chinses / swap meet quality at best.

The item itself is fine, exactly as advertised. What was poor was that I paid for expedited shipping and it still took 3 weeks to arrive, missing Christmas completely. I had both my daughter and son move out within the past 3 months and it was intended as a father to son and father to daughter little present. Feel that paying for faster shipping was a complete waste of money.

The quality of the product was worse than I hoped for. The compass doesn accurately work and it’s very light light (I.e. cheaply made); however, I didn’t buy this with the intent that my daughter would use it to discover a new island or navigate her way out of the wood or across a desert. I bought it for the saying, and that brought tears to my daughters eyes (and mine) when she opened it. The saying is amazing and very touching when you have someone leaving the house and going out on their own. Definitely worth the money for the reaction and heart-felt emotions.
